hey guys, i've been watching these cars for a while and about 3 weeks ago, i finally decided to get one. its an 82 spider 2000 with around 50k original miles and i'm about the 3rd owner. I absolutely love this thing and i'm hoping that i'll eventually be able to do some of the things I've seen some of you guys do on here. i've taken the bumpers off and i've bought a 95 amp conversion alternator and the bumperless lights from mark allison to put on. I'm gonna do as much of the work on this as i can myself and I'm sooooooo glad i found this forum. i have a feeling i'm really gonna need to tap into a lot of your' experience. i really am ready to learn though. thank you all so much in advance. I'm looking forward to it...

I appreciate a guy who removes the big bumpers and of course 82 is the best year for the Spider. I would like to see some photos when you get the chance. Where are you located?

I am in Lexington Ohio which is 60 mi north of Columbus. I like Nashville and spent some time there while I was stationed at Ft. Campbell in mid 90s. I bought my 82 after it had sat for 2.5 years and have done a lot of work to it. It sounds like you have found a much nicer specimen. You can view my photobucket album of before and after if you click on the link at the bottom of my posts.

HOLY HECK!!! man, you did a ton of great work on that car. it looks great!! how did you know what you were doing? have you worked with cars a lot? I'm honestly kinda just diving in and hoping i can figure it all out as i go. I'm posting some pics of my 82 now. Hey, can i ask you a quick question? i just tried changing this alternator but it didnt really work out like it was supposed too. i'm sure i didnt something wrong. i was thinking of taking pictures and creating a post about it but i'm sot sure which category to post in.
thanks so much for the help. and your spider looks REALLY good. i'm seriously impressed. i'll probably be asking you some questions from time to time if you dont mind.

Welcome to the site and nice ride. Maybe it's just the pic but it looks like the floor of your car is covered in vinyl? Is it?
