Greetings Everyone,
I am the owner of a Maroon Spider 1978. It has been stored in a Garage on Jacks for over 20 years. Body is intact, a lot of dust and I can't find the keys, but I'm ready to at least either part it out or get her up and running again.......I loved how it used to cruise at 70 mph......This site is just what I needed to encourage and inspire me to do it again. The engine was running, but I could be in for some trouble....(I thought the engine was aluminum, and couldn't rust.....hahaha.....I will be adding pictures soon. 8

Get it running. You own it, getting anything like it will cost more than it will to get a carbureted car back up and running. Before trying to start it after all this time, remove the spark plugs and spray some WD40 or similar light oil to lubricate the cylinder walls before turning it over. I would then put the car in 4th gear and (still with the plugs out) roll the car forwards until it moves pretty easily. Then put the plugs back in. I would also remove all the old gasoline from the tank. Get it started by putting a few table spoons of fuel directly into the carb and you should be able to get it going.
So welcome to the forum. You should also look into joining in with some of the other FLU members from the Detroit area.
