Got a dual-carb setup off a 1438. Engine has crack in block. I want to stick intake and/or head on an engine, and have some questions....
Just bought a 132AC 1592 motor, will dualcarb intake and/or head fit on?? Any advantage to using the 1438 head??
Also have a 132A1 motor, 17?? bought it in pieces so really don't kow what I have. Would that be a better option??
Am not after sheer horsepower, just want the bling & coolness effect of the dual-carb set-up. I do have the four-into-two exhaust manifold. All this will go into one of my very rough 71's.
Any help or advice appreciated, really don't know what will interchange here.

Is the dual setup the IDFs?
The intake from the 1438 should fit the 1592. The 1438 head will not fit the 1592. It can be used on a 1608. The 1800 engine is the same family as the 1592.

They appear to be the original 13/15 series IDF carbs due to the crankcase emissions ports, but on a non waffle manifold. The linkage looks interesting.

Looks like someone changed the cam housing and dist to a later model, 1438 should have been on the block.

You're right about the dist, I hadn't thought of that. Whole engine has been gone thru, is overbored etc.

They probably did it because of the dual IDF setup.
