Tennessee 1977 Fiat 124
Hello all. I now have the pleasure of being able to drive a 1977 124. I have driven Corvettes, Lotus', Ferraris, and Porsches and there is something about top down cruising in these cars that is truly unique. I look forward to exploring this site and pooling any and all knowledge I can, and hopefully contributing down the road. Also, I would like to organize some type of outing for a Deals Gap (US 129) later on down the line. Thanks for the wonderful site! I will have pictures uploaded soon.

Welcome Mrs. Riley from another `77 owner.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the car as you get comfortable with it. Performance-wise, of course, it is not in anywhere near the same league as some of the cars you mention, but fun wise... ahh! Well, as I said, I'm looking forward to your thoughts.
My main moto passion has for some time been Ducati motorcycles, ridden on the street and (to a lesser extent) on the track. For pure excitement nothing I have driven or ridden is (to me) quite their equal. But for pure smile-making pleasure nothing, I repeat, nothing, beats a 124 Spider. Interesting to see if you agree.

Italian motorcycles. An Italian car. An Italian wife. What more could a man desire?
Re: Tennessee 1977 Fiat 124
Thanks Don. I completely agree. Obviously, the Fiat is nowhere near the performance level of the cars I have had the pleasure of driving (perk of having trust fund, car guy feinds ) But as I said, I completely agree that the "smile" factor and overall joyfulness of a top-down drive in the 124 is definitely unique to say the least. Needless to say, the car has not, and will not be going anywhere, and I am actually looking to add one of my own to the stable as a track /autocross / weekend corner carver.
BTW: I appreciate the warm welcome. Let me explain my username though. The car was bought new in 77 by my fiance's mother in Louisiana. Unfortunately, she passed away in 91, but the car has remained in the family litterally un-changed from the way Mrs. Riley bought it. So, just to clarify, I am not Mrs. Riley My name is Joshua, and the username is more to pay tribute to a wonderful woman with an outastnding taste in cars. But once again, thank you for the warm welcome.

Welcome Joshua. You've come to the right place for Spider support. You'll also find a few owners in the western NC, north GA area that are familiar with Deals Gap. In fact, we just had our 27th annual Fiat Freakout in Asheville, NC this year and many Fiat owners had the ooportunity to tame the Dragon.
If you're interested in a track day/autocross car, I'll be selling my Lemons racer to make room in the shop for my X19 SCCA racer, so if you're interested, pm me.

Re: Tennessee 1977 Fiat 124
Thats fantastic. I've taken a look at some of the mebers and found a few in local to my location. I am only about an hour and a half away from US 129 and frequent it regularly with my best freind and a few other auto-crossers we know from Nashville SCCA events. Needless to say, its an extremely great drive, as others on here probably agree. In my mind, it we be very neat to see a handful of Fiats in a row carving corners The event you mentioned sounds very intersting. Is there any information about this somewhere else on the forum? BTW, PM sent.

Now that looks like a FUN time! Gotta love Killboy too. His photos are FANTASTIC! I'll definitely kep an eye out for anything that comes up about the above mentioned event. Consider me, and well as my fiance, in . I hope you guys keep it somewhat tame though, as I cannot flog the Fiat (hence why I am looking for one of my own) Thanks for the reply!
