Good Day All

Post by Spiderboyuk »

Hello All
Just nipped in to wish you all the best from Dorset in the UK having just signed up today.
My car is a 1980 Spider (1979 Build) and I've owned it since June 2000 - only drive it when it's not raining. It apparently came to this country in 1991 from California but nothing is known of it's history over there. In fact not much is known about it in the twenty four months before I bought it. At some time the air con has been removed and the exhaust modified to take out the cat. I've managed to contact the guy who owned it up to about 1998 and he swears that he had kept it original so we figure it was abused for about two years thereafter. Runs OK now after a bit of attention but am finding cosmetics missing and starting to get them as and when I can. Didn't know some were missing until a friend bought one and we compared notes so now the hunt is on. Stumbled on your site by accident and am impressed so will pass it on to him. Maybe you'll be hearing from him as well.
Regards
Spiderboyuk.

hidee hoe !

welcome. i too own an October '79 build of an '80 Spider. That means carburation rather than fuel injection. Had it since July of '95, and won't get rid of it ever....unless....

Since then, I've acquired a '78 Spider; and am continually amazed at what previous owners decided to do.

Enjoy the short time before the next driving season. Take this opportunity to get 'er ready to roll!!
