Hi from Melbourne , Australia

Post by dannyas124 »

Hi there,
I found this site on a Google search a few days ago, liked what I saw and joined !
I have had many fiats over the years including , 128 sedans, 131 sedans (3) 131 wagons (2) 125 sedans (3) 850 coupe 124AC 124BC (2) 1500 sedans (2) and finally (?) a x1/9 and 1978 spyder.
Most of these were bought when old Fiats were plentiful , cheap to buy and easy to maintain .
So after the mortgage had settled down I thought it was about time I bought a Fiat spyder, a car that I have wanted for some time.
So the currant Fiat fleet is a 1963 Fiat 1500 sedan fitted with a 1800 twin cam, 1978 x1/9 1300 with twin DCNF's and of course a 1978 124 spyder now fitted with a 2000 twincam 40/80 cams, hi comp pistons etc and twin IDF's.
Anyway that's it for now
Thanks
Danny

Hello and Welcome! Were these all converted locally to RHD?

A soft-top, a pop-top and a taxicab! How about a family photo or two?

G'day Danny,
Welcome to the Forum, there's quite a few Aussies contributing here.

I took this shot of Danny's Spider earlier this year at a gathering of Italian cars at Como Park in Melbourne.
As for the X1/9 and 1500 .......

Thank's for the welcome,
At this time the x1/9 is having the exhaust and a few other issues sorted out ,in a effort to raise the power levels (and there for the fun levels) of this great little car.
Arr....the 1500, I can say that at the moment it has a very low carbon foot print !
Millie has been a ongoing project for a number of years now. Progress has been slow to say the least, however she has been repowered with a Fiat 1800 t/cam and a 5 speed gearbox (from a 1500 convertable) .Also a "clutch pack" type lsd has been fitted along with 4 wheel 124 disks and calapers.
With the other projects taking up time and money some times I wonder why I'm keeping her.
Also for those who don't know, most of the fiat models from the 50's thru to the 80's were imported into Australia (with the notable exception of the 124 and 850 spyder) and survive in reasionable numbers.

thanks
Danny

Thank's Perthling,
A good mate of mine has a silver 124 cc he has owned since it was 12 months old. Three of us drove up to Auto Italia this year ( my 124cs, Paul's cc and another friend Kirt in his 124bs spyder).A truly fantastic trip, up and down twisty mountain roads and miles of deserted (mostly) highway , real Fiat terratory . :D
O and Auto Italia was good as well ! . I'll try and post some photo's

thanks
Danny

I have a picture of that car on my shed wall (from last year's Club calendar) - next to some shots of my old silver CC in competition.
