Carb question: Weber 32 ADFA

Post by dcarey »

I disassembled and cleaned the 32 ADFA Weber on my 1978 spider. I managed to mix up the jets and emulsion tubes. Does anyone know what goes where?

Here is what I have...

Main fuel jets: 125 and 140, does the 140 go in the Secondary?

Main air jets: 170 and 185, does the 185 go in the Secondary?

Emulsion tubes: F 7 and F 73 any idea?

Thanks.

I have some old carb books that show where the jets etc go on some of these, but I THINK just thru 74. I'll see if I can find the books tomorrow. Methinks Mark has the info too, and he can likely find it!

I do have the info at work, I'll try to remember to look it up Tues. I believe though, that the 125 and 170 go in the primary

Found this post from last year on this very topic.
It might be of some help. About 2/3rds of the way down Mark lists some starting points.

This is excellent information, thanks very much.

I have one question left. I have two emulsion tubes an F73 and an F7, does anyone know which goes where? The F73 has an extra set of holes and looks like it would flow more fuel. Maybe I answered my own question, the bigger emulsion tube goes with the bigger jet, the 185, which is in the primary.

Thanks again.

I haven't had a chance to look up the chart yet, but more holes in an emulsion tube means a leaner mixture, not more fuel flow

78 32 adfa, Different jets for Calif or Fed emissions;

calif--125 primary, 50 idle jet, f73 emulsion, 175 primary air jet, 140 secondary jet, 60 sec idle, f7 emulsion secondary, 170 sec air

fed--only difference is 185 primary air, 170 secondary air

Thanks Mark, that answers the question. And good point, that more holes means more air and a leaner mix.
