Ground strap connection
Ground strap connection
OK - here's a dumb question. I discovered that the ground strap that goes from the chassis to the transmission (right at the front of the flywheel inspection plate) was loose. When I tried to tighten it, the bolt wouldn't grab. So I removed the bolt and half of a threaded plastic piece fell out. Did they really use a plastic nut for this purpose?? Now, the bolt fits in a deep and seemingly tapered channel/hole in the bell housing, so it's impossible to put a metal nut in there and get it centered do the bolt can thread. Does anyone know whether there's some special fastener at work here?
Re: Ground strap connection
that was done by a PO. Attach the cable to a threaded hole on the bellhousing so you get a good connection
