Hello from LA . . .

Post by Wes »

My name's Wes. I'm in Los Angeles. A Georgia native, I've been here for 8 years now and have made it home. Honestly, never remember coming across any Fiat Spiders until moving out West. Over the years now, I've crossed paths with more than a few and always have to stop and take a look. And each time I walk away looking forward to my next encounter . . .

Long story short, I'm now on the hunt for one. At the information-gathering stage. Not the most mechanically adept or knowledgeable guy (yet), but I'm looking to learn more about these great cars from true enthusiasts. I'm also looking to purchase one. Luckily, Mark has been kind enough to allow me membership despite truly being part of the Fiat club yet. Thanks again, man!

Anyway, I'll be bouncing around now, checking things out and asking questions (some of which are bound to be ignorant, so apologies in advance). Look forward to meeting you and becoming part of what seems to be a great community of car lovers.

See you in the forums . . .

Adios,

Wes

HI Wes, welcome to the forum. You're in a good area to be looking for a Spider. Out here you can usually find cars without a lot of the rust issues that plague wetter or colder areas. Plus, we get to drive them more! For some reason the prices also seem to be better in our area. Good luck in your search.

Hi Wes,

There is a very nice looking Spider on ebay now from Laguna Beach. Here is the link:

If it is anywhere close to as nice as it looks in the pictures (never trust pictures) it could be a good deal. I've been watching it and I'm very surprised about the light bidding. It is definitely worth looking at.

If you do follow up on this one let us know.
Wes

Thanks for the welcomes and advice!

Funny, I've been watching that very Spider on ebay. You're right - it's a looker. Trying to learn a bit more before throwing my hat in the ring, though. I'll keep y'all posted if anything interesting happens.

HI Wes,

Hey you're not that far away. Take a ride over and take a look at it.

Big advantage for you to be able to look it over before potentially bidding on it.

Here's a picture of mine. My buddies are telling me the ebay car is a sister to mine. I got mine from LA less than 3 months ago:

I wonder if they ever met.

Welcome Wes. Too bad you're not still on the east coast. I have a friend selling his practically perfect 85.5 Pininfarina at a reasonable price.
