New here.

Hey, I'm Will. I'm from eastern Oregon, and I probably have the only Fiat on this side of the state.

In January, I purchased a 1978 Spider with an 1800 and I've been living under the hood off and on ever since.

Once I finally had everything pieced together properly, my roommate snapped my key off in the ignition. I've got a push button ignition now with a basic toggle switch.

Not sure what else to say, but for the last couple of months, this site has helped me fix more small problems than I could've ever figured out on my own. Just thought I'd join up and say thank you, you've all been a big help.

Hello Will, and welcome to the site! We've all found plenty of useful tips here; pretty soon you'll be able to advise others, too.

Your busted ignition switch is repairable. Most repairs are due to faulty contacts, but perhaps you could take the remains of the ignition key to a locksmith after the procedure and have a new key made. I had a motorcycle in college that didn't have an ignition switch, and every once in a while it would disappear.

Welcome Loverboy. There's a big Fiat event in the state of Oregon every year in July you may be interested in. Then you won't feel so lonely!

Fabian, welcome to you too. You may want to start a new thread in the introduction section so everyone can properly welcome you.

Well, I don't have many pictures, since I recently moved, but here's my spider.

I love this car! There's a single dent on the entirety of the body, zero rust damage, and only a few minor annoyances to tweak in the engine (point gaps! Argh!)

And, as for the name, I adopted it when I was 15, so it's been around for quite a while. There have been girls, sure, but I just thought it sounded good at the time. Now it's just familiar.
