Hi, I have just bought a Fiat 850 Spider.
I wondered if there were any other 850 Spider owners on this forum that could give me any tips?
Firstly, my car has some awful wheels that must go and I wanted to know if 124 Spider wheels can be used on the 850 without other modifications. Also, I would like a new exhaust/tail pipe and cannot seem to find suppliers on the web. Are there any specialist 850 spider spares dealers in Europe or US that could help?
Many thanks...

Most any rim from any Fiat will fit. I wouldn't use anything wider than 6" and can't really recommend anything larger than 14"
A 5.5x13" rim works best which gives you a really broad choice of rims. The ones that I prefer are the Abarth CD 30 4 spokes which can be had in aluminum (reproductions) or magnesium (expensive originals), some of the other rims from Histowheels can be found with some effort. Another of my favorites are these: http://www.histowheels.com/Campagnolo/C ... o-40571BP/ and a friend had a set of these on his 850 which looked really nice (all silver with a spun stainless cap) http://www.histowheels.com/Cromodora/Cromodora-CD-27/
For wheels watch ebay, craigslist, the various vendors listed below and enthusiast sites such as this, Mirafiora and Xweb as well as others.
As for exhausts for an 850 there are not many choices. There is the standard factory set up which is all one piece and pretty pricey. There were Ansa two piece units but those are really hard to find, they had a head with two outlets into a muffler with two outlets. There was also a PBS 4 into 1 header (which I have) that would attach to a variety of mufflers. Periodically they show up on Ebay and some of the various vendors. I would check with Chris Obert at Fiat Plus, whoever it is that is handling Al Consentino's old stock, Csaba Vandor at Auto Ricambi or Matt at Midwest Bayless as he likely has something or several variations on something.
An 850 is fun car to cruise around town with but not my favorite ride for the highway although they can do just fine there. Good luck, congrats on your purchase and welcome to the site!

Many thanks guys, those tips are really useful. I have just bid too little too late on a refurbished set of CD39's on Ebay. They went for a paultry £200. Gutted!!! I had a 77 124 Spider a while back and hope this little 850 is as much fun as that was.

Hej! I'm still waiting for it. It got delayed on a ship from LA and wont be in Sweden until late July. And the summer is passing me by. I'm gutted.
BTW, would you happen to know anyone who is selling a set or pair of Cromodora wheels Swede?
I'm based on the East Coast of Skane, near Kristianstad.
