That is very good advice. I have a set of spare injectors in the garage. Guess I'll have them cleaned, tested and stored.baltobernie wrote:You injector guys need to get a set of "known good" ones that you can loan each other for troubleshooting. Can't cost much to mail them around.

Actually, not really. One of the problems with injectors is that they don't like non-use. If you let them sit they sometimes dry out and stick and become non-functioning. Most all of the cleaners will tell you to be sure to install and run them within 30 days maximum and to keep them sealed tightly in a bag with some lubricant until you do. Extended shelf time is BAD for injectors and can turn "good" ones into bad ones. That's why new ones always come with those rubber caps on either end, to protect the injector sure, but also to keep them "moist" inside.Europa wrote:That is very good advice. Re: Mystifying "Mis-fire"
This is also why very often FI cars rum crappy after extended periods of sitting when you first start driving them again. In most cases if you are lucky the sticking injector(s) then free up and the car runs well again. Always a good idea to run a FI periodically even if you aren't driving it much.
