hey everyone my fiat has been a real pain! I feel the same as Craig and his post Depressed but not questioning my alliance to fiats. I think i am having similar problems to his fiat i loose power everyone and a while and it will come back just as fast as it goes away. i have replaced the ignition module, cap, rotor, plugs, and wires, no help. But then my mom decided to take it for a spin and she said it died on her a couple of times and had a lack of power. when i went out to start it the next day it wouldn't start and it no longer sparks:(
any ideas?
thanks Ethan

Do you have power to the coil? Have you looked at the pickup in the dist?

Re: FIAT LOOSES POWER
Ethan,
It would help if we knew what year your car is and if it is carb. or FI. My car had a similar problem and it turned out to be the feed from the alternator to the fuse box. If you search on my posts you'll find that discussion. When it happens (like now) do you also loose power to the clock, horn, emergency flashers? In other words, have you lost power to all things unswitched?

You don't mentikon replacing the magnetic pickup, the lead from the distributor to the ignition module. Did you replace it as well? Your symptoms are classic to a broken / failing pickup lead.ethandf06 wrote:i have replaced the ignition module, cap, rotor, plugs, and wires, no help.

ya i replaced that to no help but also the distributor was sucking up oil so i replaced the internal seal and i replaced the pickup before the seal went bad would getting oil on it cause problems? i cleaned it up pretty good though.
