Hello all,
First off, this is a '74 spider. Finally got things wired up and got her running. I was scared to run the engine too long because the oil pressure was barely registering. Red light is working. It comes on with key and cuts off once engine is running and when I remove the oil cap, there is oil all over the exhaust cam. But the meter barely goes past zero and moves very little with rpms. I bought a guage cluster with a mech. oil pressure guage on it. It also has voltmeter, which I need, and a temp meter. My question is: Is there anywhere on the block I can insert the temp sensor without removing the two factory sensors on top of the head? I was thinking there may be a bolt somewhere that I can remove and insert the water temp probe. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Place on block for temp sensor
no, the water temp needs to be read from the head, remove the sensor that is a switch, on the head the 2 factory sensors, one is a resistor, one is a switch, a failsafe if the resistor fails it will peg the guage. put the mechanical guage sending unit there, if you are going to leave the factory guage, if not remove the sendor thats a resistor. then you can make a overheating "idiot " light if you want
