Finally found a "new hobby"- 1983 Pininfarina with only 14K mi.! It's been sitting outside in a storage yard for the last 10 years. It's in incredibly good shape, all things considered. The owner of the yard had plans to restore it but never got around to it. So now it's my turn! Just as important is the fact that the little woman is just as thrilled with it as I am! The only thing that it obviously needs besides TLC is a fuel pump and a new top. So much looking forward to digging in!
Happy to be a new "PININ" owner!
With regards.

Wow, 14K miles. We need to see pictures of it. Is it running?
Where are you located?
Welcome by the way. We are looking forward to hearing more.

Welcome! I too own an '83 Pininfarina. Is yours an Azzura or a Spidereuropa? What color is the car? 14K miles... please post pictures.

The car is neither the Azzura nor the Spidereuropa. It's an "emissions" vehicle. It's a beautiful, faded silver/blue. I'm new to the forum scene and haven't looked into posting pictures as of yet. I will, however, when I figure out how. A couple of other things that I noticed missing were the two badges-on the trunk lid and the hood. The round bases are there but the decals(?) are missing. Any good pictures out there of what the badges exactly look like? Also, one "Pininfarina" badge on the side panel is missing. They all were probably laying on the ground somewhere around where the car was sitting-wish I would have thought to look for them. By the way, I live in Michigan.

Hi, and welcome to the forum wbsterritt. Your car sounds great.
It is my understanding that when Pinninfarina took over from Fiat in the production of the Spider in 1983 they changed the designation to "Azzura" for the cars meant for export and "Europa" for the few meant for sale in Europe. The badge on the Azzura is a stylized sailing yacht in honor of the Italian entry in the America's Cup.
International Auto Parts (IAP) has the replacement badges. From their catalogue;

Ron is right. If the badges on the hood & trunk are missing, look right above the shifter. There should be silverish plate would either have spidereuropa or spider azzura (not too sure about the spider azzura - someone?). The plate is right above the radio. This is assuming that your '83 has the original dash/console layout. HTH.
