I read in another post that the two nuts on the throttle cable are supposed to be on one side of the fitting (I think Mark said it). Why is this? Our throttle cable is frayed because of the loose connection here. Will tightening up the tension on the (new replacement) cable be enough to stop this bad rubbing?

the two nuts are supposed to be locked together, but wind them up against the ear on the plenum to take out the slack
