Got it running during the long winter = done by pro. Now have it home and doing the work myself to slow the $$$ flow.

Just getting started on rust, changing gear oil, etc. Have already learned a lot from the forum.

Fun - yes; Investment - no.

Thanks for this forum!

Dan?

The car looks reasonable from your avatar. Mine is a 10 footer/driver.

Hello Dantye
Nice to see someone near St. Paul. Do you have more photos of your car?

Sure - Here's my photo Log: http://picasaweb.google.com/dantye/FIAT?feat=directlink#

I will update these photos as rust surgery proceeds. About 45 miles on it since I acquired it 5 months ago as a non-runner. Car had last been titled in FL in 1987, and was apparently brought to WI then; never re-titled or licensed until I bought it.

It's looking like about a 3-year project. You may notice I could use some solid pans for the seats. Otherwise, lots of welding ahead!

Thanks for the reply.

Hello, welcome to the forum. Looks like you have a good candidate for refubishing. Pretty cool to have the rare "privacy" rear window option.

Hey Dantye,
welcome here and like MNSpiderman already said, its nice to have people close by. I hope one day to meet some people from around here. I also own a Fiat, a Ford and a Scion and I wish they would be all fife speeds like yours but sadly only the Fiat is.
Good luck with your projects,
Tobi

That old white vinyl top is already gone - the car will be an open roadster for a few months (years?) yet. Up here, these cars are 6-7 months per year drivers at best anyway.

However, I was fortunate to find a new dark blue Hartz cloth top for under $300 with free shipping. A re-seller in your neck of the woods had it in stock and needed to move it. (apparently made up for another buyer who reneged.) It is brand new and good quality, but it would not make much sense to install it now and start spraying rust dust on it.
