The intake air was covered with tape. I put clamps on it and it ran MUCH better... still a bit rough but MUCH better. the bottom of the air filter box is cracked and is not making a seal. I will replace it (I have a spare - came with the car - Thank God) and get a new filter.
I suspect that in general it needs a full tune up so that is the next step...
Thanks for all your help... When I restored a 73 Dodge 12 years ago we did not have these kinds of on line help and it was MUCH harder...
We should all be thankful to Mark and the others who help us "newbies" out...
