Starting issue

Post by rmalicki »

So i took the car off the road for almost two weeks with not ever starting it. Now she won't start. I pulled the Plugs and they looked white on the side without the metal over it and then black on the other side. In a previous post i had been talking about starting issues and idle issues so seems they are all together and now it won't kick over like its not sparking. In a couple hours ill be home to check the spark at all plugs and checking my coil. I have a feeling the coil is bad due to it never being replaced and the rest of the system was replaced (spark plugs, distributor and cap, and wires). Any tips or advised as i'm going through this would be great. If it looks like the coil then i'll be replacing it friday after pay day.
Thanks in advance Ryan

First cover the basics:

Is the battery fully charged?
Clean all contacts and major ground connections.
I know this will sound even offensive... but it has gas, right?
Is yours a manual fuel pump car or electric pump? If electric, fuse/relay fine?

After that, go ahead with your plan and check for spark? Have someone try to start the car while you check for spark coming from the coil and then at all four plug wires.
Drive Safe!
