The Voices almost had me buying another '80 Fi that had been converted to carb. The had me convinced I should have something I could tinker with over time while still having the ability to enjoy the gem that I already have. BUT...the Voice of Reason ( who sleeps with me) questioned the concept of spending almost as much as getting the car from Oregon to Vancouver Island as I was going to pay for the car. As sleeping privileges were at stake, the VOR suddenly made sense. The Voices are still whispering, though, as I'm now looking for a project closer to home.

Hi Bruce. On my travels in Victoria,I saw a 79 or later spider in the Fort Victoria RV place just outside Langford on the old Island Hwy. It was yellow and would be a canidate for a running resto. It had not been insured for a month I think. I left my number even though there was not a for sale sign on it. No call backs yet so I guess not interested in selling. If you're down that way have a look. Take Helmken road and stay right and turn rt at the island hwy a k to Fort Vic. car was up in the back.
Myra won't be offering me coffee any more if I keep getting you to buy fiats

I need to show my wife this thread... she will read it and understand that I am not to be held responsible for my actions. It was the little voice in my head doing all the driving.

Ah, there you are Jamie. Haven't seen anything from you for a few days. You must have been spending some time with your family or (shudder) doing some work that actually pays for your Fiat habit.

There back!
The voices said it was so nice out I should drive the 81 Spider to work just to make sure the heater core (just installed) does not leak. Well it was 70 degrees and sunny so it seemed like a good idea. Work starts at 2:00pm and ends at 1:00am. It wasn't sunny and warm when it came time to leave work and head home. Voices said only a cry baby would put the top up to drive home. Said something about me having to wear a dress if I put the top up. Said John Wayne wouldn't put the top up. So I drove home with the top down. Not too bad. So I did it again last night just to be sure the heater core does not leak. I think I'll do it again tonight! No voices required :D

Yup, I know that feeling...
Drove to work today, top down... was +2'C (guess about 36'F for our American readers).

Coworkers were commenting, that it was only 2'... I replied that it was a full 2' ABOVE freezing...

We get two seasons... July and winter, make do. :P
Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, we have decided to turn off the light at the end of the tunnel. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Help Denise .........

The voices came back again on Thursday last week .....

Now we have a Fiat 126 ( Aka A Niki ) all 650cc engine and only 2 pistons

It's a stripped down MotorKhanna car, but could easily be put back to road usage.

I though you were away on business this week. I went with Ralph and Scott. They made me buy the Fiat, I swear
Well at least that's what I told the house frau when I came home. She's a good sport. What are you doing Tuesday night? Weather permitting I think I'll be dismantling the 82. Come on up and we'll throw some burgers on the grill. George
