Update:
Bwahahahaha! The voices have won. Wife thinks I should keep both Spiders. They are small, cheap, and don't take up much room. They are also alot of fun to drive in and keep me out of trouble. The dog apparently likes it to. The parts car will be leaving soon. Have to start searching for another. Might have a line on one near my home. What fun. Thanks for the group therapy.

Re: Please somebody help me I hear voices!!!
I'll come up next week too, I'm probably going to be gone Mon-Wed taking an airplane to the boneyard.
If you put tin foil on your head before you go to bed at night it keeps the government from monitoring the voices in your head. That and a Star Trek shirt will also get you out of jury duty.

Hi Tony,
Due to the nature of my profession I have personally met alot of intresting people wearing the tin foil bonnets. Not only does it keep out the rays, it stops the implanted transmitter (implanted by the FBI) from transmitting your thoughts to the people that are tracking you. I did meet a witness protection program person. He told me all about the implanted transmitters.I have yet to meet one of the ufo abductees. But you never know.
Why don't you and brady tele-transport yourselfs up here and help me remove the engine and trans from the parts car. I'll buy you lunch at your choice of local eateries (sorry nothing interplantery). I'm off on vacation until Aug 13th. Regards, George
P.S. Yes I will provide humanoid personal lubrication. Commonly known on earth as beer

George,
We'll try and make that engine removal happen soon. This weekend is shot already, but sometime during the week might be good.
Have you had anyone tell your their EZPass theory? I have personally flown with an airline pilot who doesn't have one because "they'll know where I am." Of course, as airline pilots, we are among the most heavily monitored, regulated, and tested people in the country but I guess you've got to drawn that line in the sand someplace. In this guys case, that someplace is apparently Crazytown, NJ, USA, Earth.
For those of you non East Coast people, EZPass is an automatic toll paying transponder you attach to your car windshield.

George,
What day is good for you next week? I still have to order the tow dolly. You and I could pull the eng ourselves. I did mine myself. Just take off all the items that need disconnected and I can help you pull it. If you disconnect one side the steering linkage that goes behind the crossmember, it will be easier. This way I could get the tow dolly back before they close. If possible, I would like to do it during the week. If not, just let me know the day your looking at and I'll try to accomodate you. Feel free to call if you need to talk about what needs done. Thx

Re: Please somebody help me I hear voices!!!
Hi Tony,
I went for a ride with a group of friends to Maine to check on my buddy's summer home. Well enroute we were in for quite a shock. Throw a bunch of guys in a Surburban for several hours and the conversations can be long and varried. One of our group advised us that the Kennedy shooting was a government conspiracy, that there is no proof that a plane crashed into the pentagon, and the world trade center collapsed due to a bomb that was planted by the governmant. He really believed every word of it.
To say that he got razzed alot was an understatement. There and back. When ever we get together he gets it to one degree or another. He has pretty much been beaten into parade rest. He surrendered but we still think he believes it.
When you come up bring your spider. Ralph gave me the name of his painter and hes local. I want to see your guys work and the short shifter. I think I'm available every day except Wed. I will check tomorrow and get back to you. George

Hi Brady,
This week is great. Maybe Thurs. I will get back to you tomorrow. Everything has been disconnected. I need to disconnect the trans., starter, and 1 engine mount. Easy to do but haven't had a chance to get to it. PM me your phone number. I'll call you with directions and an address. George

I have the voices in my head, the voices in Sherman's head and I also have the voices of my little boys. After picking the boys up from school( 8 and 9) I stopped to pick up something for the fiat. When I went to pay the girl asked what I was working on and my boys told her all about my little red car that has a top that comes down. It was really cute.NJFIAT1981 wrote:It all started with a 1981 Spider. Even though it needed a lot of work I just had to have it.(Voice in my head) It did not make the spousal unit happy in any way, shape, or form. Then I found out about a 81 Spider parts car that required a four hour one way drive in rather foul weather. Had to buy it. (Voice in my head again) The voice in my head just told me I needed a engine stand to pull the engine out of the parts car and rebuild it. (The voice is demanding it be done). The voice keeps saying something about a paint job.
The woman of the house is not amused at all. She does not believe me about the voice. Wants the parts car out of the driveway. The voice wants a set of Panasport rims and told me to get another parts car so the first parts car will have company. Does anyone else hear voice? When do they stop?

Voices update. The 1980 is out getting a bumper change, early directional signals and a paint job. Can't wait to get it back.

Re: Please somebody help me I hear voices!!!
The Voices almost had me buying another '80 Fi that had been converted to carb. The had me convinced I should have something I could tinker with over time while still having the ability to enjoy the gem that I already have. BUT...the Voice of Reason ( who sleeps with me) questioned the concept of spending almost as much as getting the car from Oregon to Vancouver Island as I was going to pay for the car. As sleeping privileges were at stake, the VOR suddenly made sense. The Voices are still whispering, though, as I'm now looking for a project closer to home.
