Hello to all. Just found and bought a 1980 spider 2000 on Craigslist.
I owned a mid-70's Spider years ago and have always
loved this little car.
This car is a nice find. 33,000 orig miles!
Motor spun the mean bearing somehow so he
rebuilt it incl. the heads. Now I just have to put all the pieced back together.
The interior and top are almost perfect. I couldn't believe it.
No cracks anywhere. Always been garaged.
Window rubber is a little brittle and I will replace but no
big deal.
It was slightly hit about 5-6 years ago ad had just sat in a garage since.
Seller moving out of town just needed to get it gone so I bought it.
I'll be replacing the hood, rt fender, and few parts and throw a new ext
paintjob on it to make it shine. Yeah, I just found out the fender is not a simple
unbolt and install. Has to be cut out. Oh well, I found a decent parts car for $300-
so I think I'll be ok.
I'll try to load some pictures of the car soon and show the progress.
I'm sure I'll be asking a few q's here and there. Looks like a nice forum.
take care,
Dave

Hello Dave, and Welcome!
Sounds like you've found a car with great potential. Hope you can get her running to enjoy your Summer.
There's a get-together in Issaquah in a few weeks. Maybe you can get some parts, tips, and socializing: http://www.fiatspider.com/f08/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=9135
