California Central Coast says HELLO !

Post by SLOSpider »

]Hi my name is Brian and I am a fiat owner. My last fiat was 3 years ago and within the past 2 weeks I have fallen off the wagon and just bought a 1975, with issues :) . I am near Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo on the beautiful California Coast! Perfect place for a drop top Fiat. Looking forward to talking and meeting some of you insane people much like myself. Brian

Welcome SLO!

I am in Orange County, I have a son and a daughter attending Cal Poly and family living in Arroyo Grande, so I get up your way from time to time. Though I usually drive the minivan up there!

Hello Brian and Welcome! Yes, you certainly are in Spider Country there along the coast. I have customers in Carpinteria and SLO, and it's strange how a sales call always seems to be required every summer

Hi Brian, welcome to the forum.
My first date with my wife was a motorcycle ride up the coast to your town. You do live in pretty country, perfect for a Spider.
The issues you mentioned must be mechanical, the car looks great.

Hi Ron! Well I managed to escape that Heat and Cactus where you are back in 1993. Still go there often as Mom lives in Apple Valley. I think I should start my own thread on the poor Fiat as I keep finding more and more things to fix and repair as I go forward. Overall the car is pretty sound frame wise so I dont mind the repairs.

Some repairs Im doing:

Replacing burnt wiring from alt to starter
Removed cowl to fix frozen wiper system and to get working
Timing belt, bearing, front oil seal, hoses,
Radiator cleaned and repaired
Fix horn
Find out why there is no charge relay
Oil Pan, gasket and pump
Install ground wire to block
Single point conversion ( Need a pick a part to get the electronic set up for $25.00 )
New shocks
New brakes, everything complete front and rear
New control arms and sway bushings

That should keep me busy for a couple of weeks.

It gets hot here?? Gee, I hadn't noticed. (Most of my work is outdoors.)
I sure sounds like you're off to a good start getting your car safe and running good.
You'll have to come on over to the LA area sometime when we get together and join us. A big gathering of Italian cars happens each November in the San Fernando valley, the Best of France and Italy car show. You should definitely plan to come for it, you'd meet a lot of Fiaters from the So Cal erea there.

I can't wait to get back to Cali and drive down to your area of town. I've been in the Midwest for far to long and am ready for the ocean. I'm going to be so ready in January when i take the u haul and most of my stuff back to the river in Sacto. I loved just getting in a drop top and heading to the beach with a bikini clad hottie...But it gives me the next few months to do my own Fiat honey do list...Well Brian have a lot of fun enjoying the fun in the sun out by the coast and know there are many of us jealous for now!
