Hi All
So after having my new 82' FI for a month now i am thinking of doing a bit of tweaking to give the ride a bit more "giddy-up"
so i am the giving some serious thought to buying Allison's Python Header and his mild cams. I would like to hear from anyone that has one or both of these mods on a fuel injected model. I am hoping that together these 2 mods will give a bit more power to 1st and 2nd gears as well as midrange. Presently i shifting right around 3500 RPMs with the following speeds:
1st Gear=approx. 16MPH
2nd Gear=approx. 28MPH
i am very happy with the pull pruduced in 3rd gear though.
are these low or about right?
Thanks
Mike

Mike, I'd go for the headers for sure, and ask Mark about the rest of the exhaust pipe as well, and I'm sure the cams would make a difference as well. Also If you can access a 1800 head, that makes a difference too, all for the positive. All relativly easy bolt on improvements. I put a 1800 on my 2L with ansa headers as the canuck dollar prevented anything else, and more zip is noticed. The flywheel is lightened and all that rotating stuff is balanced as well.(also have 84.4 Mhale pistons and oversized valves as well) but stock cams.. Maybe next engine ?
I'm sorry I don't pay too much attention to the shift rpms, The car has enough midrange that in 5th at 60kms(40 mph) I press the go pedal at it goes.

shifting at 3500 is okay for normal cruising, but if you expect to go faster you'll have to turn the motor higher. You're just getting into the power curve at 3500. While Detroit iron lives in those lower rpm ranges, your Fiat wants to rev
