Entente Cordiale

Post by cedarleaf »

Hi All,

I am English living in southern France, the car a Black 1980 CS2, was in Wales. We just collected it and drove it 1000 miles to it's new home. Torrential rain, freak winds and, finally, a little bit of sun. Surprisingly no particular problems but we know each other pretty well now! Can't wait for Summer.

1000 miles on your first date? You must have known it was a well sorted car. Congratulations! We'd love to see pics when you have a chance.

Hello Peter, and Welcome. Is your car a right-hooker?

Thanks for the kind words of welcome.

The car is a left-hooker although I believe their are a few RHD conversions in UK.

They are a fairly rare sight in France although in my small wine village of around 200 people there are two, the other is Belgian registered.

If I knew how to post pics I would!

Well done on your first outing. Sounds like a typical drive on the west coast of BC in November. You'll find a few members here that live there, Tappy in Belgum frequently pops up when not dealing with renos and babies.
I realize southern France is rather large, but if you ever run into(not with the car  ) Jill and Matt Grahame,(KLM pilots) say hi for me.
Have fun, lots of support here when needed

Peter - Welcome to our growing family. Sounds like you live in an idyllic setting - with a great car to match. Here's how you can post pictures for us:
http://www.fiatspider.com/f08/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=686

Basically you need an online site like Photobucket to host your pictures. Then insert the Direct Link (not the page link) to the picture between two symbols labelled "img" from the Compose toolbar.

Hi Peter, welcome to the forum. It's interesting that you live in the south of France, did you retire there, or did work get you there?
I drove my car 100 miles from where I bought it, stressed the whole way. I'm not sure if I'd have made it 1000 miles! Congratulations on your new car.
