Yah, I also had the master cylinder rod problem and thanks to an old post here I adjusted it and now it is fine. I wonder why the companies that sell the new master cylinders don't include an instruction sheet on that? Mine was adjusted as per the shop manual but I still had to run it out about 1-1/2 turns to get the pedal up.

It seems there is an instruction sheet in the box that IAP sells, but there wasn't one from Advance Auto. I'll be doing that dreaded job on my X19 as soon as I muster up the courage and I'm wondering if that's something I need to worry about. The dang thing is under the dash and I have to drop the steering column to access it.

Pooldoctorstl... thanks for the photo... I have this same info in my service manual and installed the compensator valve in the same position, I did not do the adustments as described being everything was replaced exactly as before... I will try the adjustements and see if tis helps to bleed the brakes... wow I've installed rear and front brakes on many cars and the Fiat never diappoints in throwing in a new challenge with headaches...
