any clues? faulty something...
Re: any clues? faulty something...
thanks for the responses... Like pooldoctor says, I think I've pretty much eliminated every other possibility. It is definitely fuel related (the die routine is much more like running out of gas than just turning the key off) and now I think it is pretty safe to say now that it was the tank garbage. I cleaned it by repeatedly rinsing it with clean gas, which I know was not sufficient. I also know I'll never be able to find a replacement, so I have to find a shop to restore it. Like I mentioned in a previous post, anything to do with refurbishing car parts can be found in Peru. I think the die routine I had after cleaning the tank was the result of still some debris so I guess I'll have to clean the carb again. thanks again, mil gracias.

It seems like you have changed all the major parts but how about the fuel lines or the filter? When I first drove home my spider it did something simular. I put new fuel lines and a filter in and it cleared up that problem. Does it seem to happen when the fuel gets low? Maybe something in the tank blocking the fuel. Turning off the fuel pump would let that "Something" settle back down. How is the tank? Might be rusty? Can't hurt to put a clear filter on it to see what it's sucking up if anything. Hope you get it ironed out soon. Good luck!
