Hi Dan,
Welcome

I used to live in Chilliwack, there's an 81 on Craigslist Vancouver that seems to be in good shape... the owner claims to have already spent $8000. He has a list price of $4000. It might be worth a look. If your looking for an older car, I might have a lead on a 78.

Hi Dan,glad you're gonna get back in the game.
How much work do you want to do ?
There is a green 78 down the hwy in Ollala. She is wanting twice what she bought it for and it needs a couple thou + to get back to shape. She bought it for $1500 I think but to me is only worth $1000 or less, does drive though. A purple 72 in Nanaimo CList.
Good luck in your search. Try Seattle craigs list as well, It's not really a big deal to bring back, but will have to pass inspection before insurance.

You might also want to try the craigslist ads for the US desert cities - Phoenix, Vegas etc- much less chance of rust, although as Spider Jim is finding out, more chance of rubber deterioration.

grab the door handle, and firmly but steadily pull... the door should open with ease, unless you have the dreaded DOOR HINGE CRACK !! then the door might be sagging. of course, there is the alignment pegs that could be wedged cock-eyed...

good luck on your search

I check the ad on Craigslist Vancouver about the 81 what is $4,000. The only thing what is really going for it is the engine. The rest of the car is missed up like, doors dont lock the switches had been moved to different spots, and not matching rims. Needs a new paint job, I wouldnt buy it for that price. Just thought i would mention it.
