Hello everyone!
Glad to be part of the group.I bought my first Fiat a few months ago, it is a 1976 spider with a 1979 Bravo engine, I think. Things have been moving along fairly well, have had a few issues, you well see them posted soon. Hope their are some members near Charleston, SC. I hear their is an event in NC in July, hope I can make it. Working on some pictures, not much to look at now.
Thanks, Steve (drenthe)

Re: New from SC
Steve, welcome.
what makes you thinkthe engine is out of a Brava?
the meet is in Asheville NC, July 8-11... FIAT FREAK OUT, details at http://www.flu.org
and, you are planning on posting pictures of your '76, right?

Re: New from SC
The guy I bought it from bought a timing belt for the 1800 and it would not fit, told me the 2000 timing belt did and according to the engine numbers it shows that it is a 1979 2000. As you can tell I'm learning as I go. Going to try to make it to NC with or without the spider. Got some pictures on photobucket? Not real sure how to post.

Hey Steve ,welcome to the forum.2 litre swaps into the earlier cars is pretty common, although I am not familiar with the Brava. Are you it isnt a Spider motor? The 2 litre was stock in 79 Spiders.Post some pix and some of the experts here are sure to identify it for youThere is a tutorial here for posting pix from photobucket.

Hello and Welcome!

They've changed their site slightly; I need to update my original post, but the concept is the same.

Thanks,
Not sure if I did this right, should be three pictures. The engine might be from a 79 fiat, not sure why I thought otherwise. Thanks for the info. I look forward to the July event.

Re: New from SC
Looks like a spider engine to me... and the egr valve has been removed and a plate placed on the intake manifold to cover the hole.

Thanks for the info. I have the bumpers, but not sure going to put them on, think it looks better without. Like to get something for the back. Live in South Carolina now, feels more like Michigan lately. Lived in the Holland and Ann Arbor area for about twenty years. Wish their was a group in my area.
