Here are cars that not starting there if it is raining...

Yes Nürburgring and Spa-Francorchamps are in only 110 km distance. Both are very interesting racetracks. I drove the Nürburgring with my Fiat UNO very very carefully
Bruges / Brüssel are 250km distance. For USA are a short distance :)

Oh yes, the beer :D
I think Belgium has more breweries than post offices! We can easily get Duvel (among others) here. On the label, one is urged to "drink with discerning friends or attractive strangers". Now that's a marketing slogan

From the looks of it, you are pretty hard into a turn when the pic was taken, and your wife seems perfectly calm! Can she come over and give some classes to our spouses on what it takes to be a passenger with one of us fools driving our cars the way they are meant to be driven? Great looking car, and welcome to the family.

my wife is ALWAYS perfectly calm after 4 Duvels !

you all should come over, we could organize a course with Duvel and Spa ( it's also a brand of mineral water here) at the Nurnburgring : topic : "The effect of vegetarian fluid on passenger and driver at different velocities on a closed track"
pure for the sake of science of course .
any volunteers ? :)

Welcome, Geert. Sorry that I missed this thread the first time around. Howdy there, Tappy!

Tappy and Desiree gave my wife and I a great welcome to your country last year. They gave us a charming tour around Antwerp and a drive out in the country to visit the Guy Moerenhout museum, as well as a home cooked meal that couldn't be beat and a bed to rest our heads that night. All I had to do is go out in the garage and help him tear up his Fiat!

I'm sure glad that we followed Tappy's suggestion as we parted company, to visit Bruges. As we arrived there by train (April, May . . . I forget), we noticed a big celebration of sorts. there were bands marching through the square, people lining the streets, cheering on runners and walkers that had numbers pinned to their chests. We learned that it was a 10K run/walk or something like that. I sure wish that I could have been running along with them -- would have been a great way to get an inside look at your city.

We walked around the old part of the city most of the day, took in a tour on the canals, checked out some of the historical windmills along the levee, and enjoyed some great dining. Here are links to a couple of cars we spotted on the street that evening:

The Ferrari license plate read 111 TOY and the Fiat plate read 500 TOY. I wonder how many exotic toys this person owned? A gorgeous young blonde girl drove the Fiat 500 away while I was still gawking.

Sorry we missed the opportunity to meet you!
