79 spider fuse problem

Post by nampa79 »

Hey guys, i made a mistake on my last entry. The fuse that keeps blowing is the last fuse from left to right. This fuse effects my dash board gages and my brake lights. Any ideas?

if it blows when you depress the brake pedal, I'd take a look at the rear lights. It could be as simple as a shorted bulb

right. what were the steps you did right before that happened?

have you done some work recently in the dash, like install a new radio?

certainly sounds like a short circuit to me, but we need some more information from you before we can help analyze where to start looking.

Hey guys, thanks for all the help. I checked the break lights and replaced them. The fuse blew again when i hit a bump in the road. I have recently put a new stereo in the car. Is there a certain way that i need to install it?

If it blew when you hit a bump, I would look for a wire or connection that isn't insulated. Sounds like it is grounding when it shakes enough. Probably hidden in trunk or behind dash b/c you would need some clean metal for it to short like that.

Just my 2 cents.
