Don't know about LEDs, but to get brighter dash lights you could try the following:

a. Clean off and die-electric grease all your grounding pods

b. Do the brown wire relay upgrade

c. Replace stock #158 gauge bulbs ( 3.3 w, 2cp ) with #168 bulbs ( 4.9w,3cp ), 50% brighter.

d.Clean contacts on dimmer switch.

For more orange color (a more modern look) try #194A bulbs.

O, and finally: these are old cars. It may be your gauges have a thin layer of dust inside of the gauge glass, obscuring them. Cleaning of the glass may have surprisingly positive results.

send me an email and i will send you my written instructions on brown wire surgery.

i will also send you instructions on headlight relay modification as well.

two tasks i highly recommend; which i have installed on both my Fiats, with great success.

after you do brown wire, you will quite probably abandon the expense of led bulbs.

check out http://www.ledtronics.com for led bulb info. There are also halogen bulbs available to replace the cluster lights if you decide against the leds. You may also find your original bulbs are dirty as well as the inside of the glass
