Hello from British Columbia

Post by courtenay »

Just joined and looking forward to reconnecting with Fiat. I bought a 124 Spider when I graduated from university in '72. Had to sell it when our first born came along. Now that I'm retired, I think I'd like to find another Fiat (and maybe my youth??)

Well hello Courtenay. Where in BC are you?
Welcome back to the world of Fiats.
No shortage of help here. Finding a spider in BC can be a bit of a chore if you want one well sorted, most seem to have an issue or two.
I have a couple of 72's,one is in the shop now for body work and paint and the other is a new year job.
Several fiat guys on the rock... Sooke and Cambell River.
Good luck in the search

Hello Courtenay,

I'm guessing you are in Courtenay in the Comox Valley, my hometown :D .

Hi Courtenay, welcome to the forum. My first Spider also had to be replaced by a car more suitable to a young family. It took 26 years to get that chore out of the way and for me to get a Fiat back. Oops. Did I say chore? I meant....ahh...
Well, anyway, welcome aboard.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. Great place, good people, valuable information and entertainment! I'm in Sooke, there are several owners in Victoria, one on Salt Spring Island, and Jim in Campbell River, who will undoubtedly introduce himself soon.

Check out http://www.usedvictoria.com and of course craigslist. There is at least one in Victoria on those lists at the moment. Several in Vancouver of course.

Hopefully we can all get together in the spring or summer!

Keep us informed of your search. I think I can say that most of us like to vicariously enjoy getting another Spider!

Thanks all for the welcome. Yes, I am in Courtenay, and yes I'm finding it is not easy to find Fiats! I too sacrificed my '72 Spider to Family, but frankly don't regret having done so. Now that the boys are well established, it might well be time to indulge once again.
