You've been busy!
If you are on a budget, why not just hook the water hoses to the original carb and make it work? Like Mark said, the choke plate should just shut with engine cold, and with the water hoses hooked up, should slowly open as car warms. Simple system, not much goes wrong.

I'm going to be installing a newer heater core with a new valve, Someone bypassed and basically removed the heater system because the valve on the heater core must have failed because its no longer there. I'm all for the estimated extra 20hp gained with the newer carb but yes, this may be the way I have to go.. but we will see once I get to adressing the motors problems. :D
