Hi,
After 30 years I' back into a spider. My first was in 1977 and I loved it but eventually swapped up for an Alfa. I've just bought an '85 and looking forward to cruising with it here in S. Florida. I bought it in Connecticut and drove it down as far as mid S. Carolina where the head gasket blew. I should have expected it since car had been storage for 5+ years and gaskets do dry out. After an unsuccessful experience that resulted in gasket change, cylinder honing, valve replacement, injector servicing, belts plus, filters replaced, etc. I've got it at another shop where I hope it will be done correctly (the mechanic is Italian).
I've posted 2 items. I'm looking for a boot and I'm selling a wood dash for an '81. It is in excellent shape and instruments and harness are included.
Any other Fiatskis here in the Miami, Keys area?
Bob

Welcome Bbob, and good luck with your new endeavor. Too bad it didn't break down around Charlotte. There's a very well known Fiat shop in Matthews that coulda got you going.

Hiya bbob. (I feel like I'm stuttering here.)
I also went many years between Spiders. The wife made a deal I couldn't refuse though, sell the motorcycle and she'd let me get a Spider. I didn't hesitate a second.
I was luckier than you though. My car also had sat for five years in a garage, but it hadn't suffered any ill effects. I've put around 15,000 miles on it in about three years and it's done very well. To be honest though, it did leave me stranded on a trip up to Oregon once, but if I'd have known what the problem was it would have been a ten minute fix. Oh well, live and learn.
Glad to have you aboard.
Ron

Welcome Bob! Did I spell that right, I always seem to get it backwards?
I am just a little North of you in West Palm Beach, there are few other board members in the Ft Lauderdale area and I do see a number of Spiders for sale in Miami so there must be a fair amount down there as well. Most of them look pretty "Cubanized" though in the pictures. Lots of big shinny rims and spoilers. I have been meaning to drive mine down the keys so we will have to put something together.
