MISSES @ 3000

Post by LE759 »

My 81 spider runs alright until I get to 2500 - 3000 rpm's and then it starts missing. The car has new injectors, a new fuel filter and the vaccum advance has been replaced. Any suggestions?

Controls the ignition, mainly the output of the coil.

I don't get to mess with Fiats with electronic ignition much, but on the other zillion types of cars I get to work on, ignition modules usually work, or they don't work, not often they create a high speed miss. Tho anything is possible...

I doubt it's the module, ignition misses usually occur under high loads, lower rpms. If you rev the engine without the tranny in gear, is the miss apparent? If so, isolate which cylinder is the culprit
