does any body know anything about these cars. my buddys wife has one, i think the timing belt went south. has 180,000 miles is clean one owner car. its a 2l turbo. got her down to 2,200. trying to go lower. my question is , is this an interferance motor, like my fiat, can there be valve damage in there. or am i looking at just a timing belt. it just shut down on her a couple weeks ago on the fwy. any info appreciated. thanx reyy

Rey: I've had 2 of these cars but, I've never had that motor. The one thing I can tell you is they wear well. I sold my first one to my teenage son 2 years ago after I used it to commute with for several years and it is still going ! I now have the 3rd. generation car with the 3.0 V-6. After 70,000 miles, the only problem I've had is a starter relay [$6.00]. I'm a happy camper ! :D ...J.D.

i had to pass it up. had 180,000 on the clock and ran fine till a month ago when the timing belt broke. couldnt get the price low enough to make it worth while. it was a very clean turbo.
