hey all!
Hi all....
New guy here, just checkin'-in.
I just picked-up a clean-ish '76 Spider. This is the 3rd Spider I've owned over the years.... but the last one was a '77, in 1992!
My first was a '71, that I bought in '87, and thoroughly loved.
I've got some lovin' to give this car, as the P.O. was not kind to her. Not that he didn't try; more that he mickey-moused it all together 'cuz he didn't know better. I probably did worse when I was a broke kid.
Anyway: I'm in Utah. Any other winter-lovers out there?

Re: hey all!
indeed welcome. Congrats on coming back to the fold
I will get the obligatory "Got any pictures?" out of the way. So do you have any pictures, we all like to see the misery of others and can't wait to see the project you have in store for yourself.

Oh yeah cold air mountains, I drove mine this morning in the cold cloudy morning to find at lunch time it was beautiful clear sunny day! still a little nippy but so much nicer than that summer heat bearing down on ya! Gotta love Utah
Re: hey all!
Welcome Maytag!
This is the BEST place ever for anything Spider!
Winter-lover? Ah, no, summer beach-lover, yes!
I'm just not happy unless topless. You're lucky that
Spiders have warm heat!

Hi Maytag,
Welcome aboard. I was also out today for a little 4 hour ride to upstate NJ. Colors of the trees was outstanding. A little nippy in the am but warmed up nicely.
You will find that this is a site full of friendly and helpful Fiat owners. They are a little demanding when it comes to posting pictures of your spider. So get with it Again welcome aboard, George

If I am, then here's a look at how it looks now.... 'just 'cuz I can't leave well enough alone!
here's one of the right / front brakes... 'cuz I NEVER know when enough is enough....
through the windscreen:
rear brakes:
hopefully I'll have it back together for a spin saturday.... depends on the work load at the office tomorrow.
Maybe I oughtta come see some of y'all other Utahn's!?!?

LOL Maytag, looks like one of my Fiats, for some reason I can't leave em alone the way they are. I am in Sandy, but I get to work this weekend. I met Rook, he has a nice older Spider.

Re: hey all!
some of us Utah folks oughtta find a nice thread we can yack in without taking-up everyone elses' bandwidth!
But we should get together for pizza or sumthin'... see if I can get my 14 yr old boy interested.
And then we should plan a day out to God's Playground... er... I mean: Miller Motorsports Park, just to go play. Even if it's just in the karts....

Thanks Alan.
I did the carts at Speed Street last week. What a blast! Nice new indoor cart track in Layton that is very kid friendly. My boy had to have a booster seat plus two foam pads to reach the pedals and they still let him go. I'll do it again anytime.

hey, Maytag...
i dunn know how they do things out there in Utah, but here... we keep the wires tucked under the dash
looks like an ambitious project to have it all back together by this weekend.
