New San Diego
Hi my brother just bought a '79. I have taken an interest in the car and I'm here to research more about it. I may buy a weekend driver that has potential. This is a great site.

Welcome aboard Seajunkie. You're in a great area for owning one of these cars. In parts of the country and Canada they're putting thier cars away for the winter already!

Re: New San Diego
Actually he got the car here in San Diego for $800, he had it painted, and a mechanic went over the brakes, electrics, and fuel. Then my brother tossed his return plane ticket and drove it with his bride to be back to Richmond Va. where he lives. I'll have to get him on this board. They love the car and I thought it was pretty cool. They seem to be priced well for what you get. I'm looking for something under 2K that can be driven with no rust. I can deal with interior, paint, some mechanical issues like brakes etc. I'm torn between the older cars that don't need smog and the newer cars with fuel injection. Fortunately I have time on my side so I'll wait for the right car to come along.a brother/brother project? sounds like fun. please post some pictures soon

He took the car with him!? The dirty rat. Now you will have to find one for yourself. Good luck, and keep an eye on the forum. Members post interesting finds all the time.
Good luck.
