Hello everyone from Richmond, Virginia

Post by CHEROKEE1 »

I've had my 1980 Fiat 2000 for about 14 months and have had a great time with my "little Sophia". This last weekend my son and I took it to the European Car show in downtown Richmond and had a blast hanging around with the 2 other Spiders, 4 Fiat 500s, 20 Alphas, 3 Lamborghinis, 30 Ferraris and a couple hundred other lesser models on a warm, sunny day. Of course I've had my share of trouble with the car, but since it stranded my wife the first time she drove it I could tell Sophia's personality was just what I was looking for. The Sportscar Workshop here in town and IAP in Charlottesville, VA have been great help, along with this board I hope to learn enough to keep this thing going a long, long time.

Nice to meet you.

Hello and Welcome!

There seem to be several Spider owners in central Virginia. What a great time of the year to be out and about, instead of watching commercials for the governor's office. Man, you're going to be so sick of both of them come November :?

Photos of your new prize are always enjoyed by the members of the forum. IAP had an Open House this past Saturday, and several people said it was a worthwhile trip. Maybe I'll see you on one of the DC Fiats drives; the next one is in two weeks on Skyline Drive and vicinity. http://www.dcfiats.org/events/index.html

Thanks for the heads up about the Skyline Drive event, I'll check the website and the calender. I'd love to post photos but haven't figured out how to upload them and attach em. I'll work on it.

Hey Cherokee - Did we meet Sat? I was at the IAP event with my black 80 spider with red interior. Anyway, it was it a good event and we are going to try to get some good things going in central Virginia again. Send me an email so I can make sure those in the know can keep you posted.

Hi Cherokee, welcome to the forum. It's amazing to hear that the 500s outnumbered the Spiders at the car show, out here we'll have more than a dozen Spiders, and see maybe one or two 500s. Looking forward to seeing Sophia.

I'd love to get in touch with you sometime, I live in south side, near cloverleaf mall, but my spider is still up on jackstands. :(
