New ignition switch -

Post by cartoonstrips »

When I bought my Spider, the key was broken off in the switch and the wires were already disconnected from the switch.
The old switch is out - I have a new switch.
There are a lot of wiring diagrams, I haven't found a "match" for my collection of wires (someone may have added some over the years)
The world is out to steal my free time and I haven't been able trace any wires other than the red one.
So, maybe this weekend I'll have time to trace - but until then I thought I'd post these pictures..

Thanks..

I have looked at the diagrams here
http://www.mirafiori.com/~kdickson/switch/switch.html
and it looks like
Red = 50
black = 30/1
Brown = 30

The pink and the blue/black are together on mine - which is throwing me.
then there is the green/black and grey
plus the blue and the red/blue

Here is what my '71 wiring diagram says.

INT= Light Blue/Red and Black
30 = Brown
50= Red
15= Light Blue/Black and Pink
30/1= Black

So by deduction the green/black and gray would go on the 30/1 second pin since this is the only pin you have left. The solid Blue on the light blue/red and blue looks to have been replaced. Follow that blue wire up and see if it connects to a black. Also check out this link http://www.artigue.com/?page_id=41

Good luck

Thanks Rook1
That helped a lot.
Just committed and hooked it up - added a little power and it appears to be working as it should.

I'm glad it worked out, especially since I misspoke and said 30/1 rather than INT. :D
