Power Window kits

Post by Kingme2 »

I'm purchasing my Gloss Black '80 Spider today and already looking at upgrades :-)

Has anyone installed the power window kits (eg. those from Ebay)? Any advice? Brands/kits to avoid?

Thanks, looking forward to becoming a regular out here...

In my experience those Ebay kits are pretty cheesy. Not too hard to install, but don't last long. I wouldn't even think of putting one in a Spider, I mean what does it take, 3 or 4 cranks to roll the windows up and down? Plus I can reach the passenger side from the driver's seat!

as long as you have a quality window regulator on the passenger side, you should be able to cranker up or down from the driver seat.

those kits are a cute add-on but IMO you'd be money ahead saving that cash for regular maintenance items ... things you've yet to become aware of.

finding the nights are getting colder and my short arms can't reach the other door while driving (while txting and eating and fussing with radio and tying shoe and shifting), so, as my evening drive becomes a night drive, it would be nice to be able to make a coccoon of "warm air" wilst driving...

When is this Global Warming thing they keep promising coming?!?!!? :(
