Hello. I am new to the group, but not to Fiats. I learned to drive on an '68 850 Coupe and later on bought a new '78 Super Brava. My immediate family has owned six Fiats between us. After being away from Fiats for a long time, I am finally in the position to take the plunge.

I am in the market for a 68-72 124 Spider. My plan is to turn it into the kind of car you would see at a SCCA National rally in '70-'72. Hard top, large lights up front, no bumpers, etc. Inside, a roll bar, 4 point harnesses and a FULL complement of rally equipment. I have the rally equipment stored away.

If anybody knows of an appropriate car, preferably within Florida, I would appreciate a contact. I need a solid car, no rust buckets please. I am prepared to put money into this project, so color, mice in the seats, random missing pieces, etc. is not an issue.

Thanks

Carl

Welcome to the forum Carl. Happy to see another South Floridian!

We have a few FIAT owners from S. Florida on this forum. I am sure Gunsmith will check in fairly soon; he is also in WPB.

Hi Carl and welcome!

I too will be looking to make a Fiat track car but probably not for a year or more though. If you could ue a newer Spider there are plenty to choose from. I found this on Craigslist if you haven't already seen it. http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/ctd/1288077179.html or http://sarasota.craigslist.org/cto/1276799980.html or http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/1257522237.html or http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/cto/1286389848.html

Here's a 71 ready to become a track car http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-Fia ... rtsQ5fCars

Let me know if I can help in anyway.
