BMW vs. ALFA GTV6 - "Other car search"
I've owned a few BMWs, all older models. My 1980 528i was one of the most enjoyable cars I've ever driven, and was reliable as well. The only problems I experienced in my 4+ years with it were a leaking front transmission seal and an exhaust flange that cracked just below the header. The car had 110k on the clock when I got it, 160k when I sold it to buy a '66 Thunderbird. Very solidly built, thoughtfully laid out, very comfortable on long trips. The older (pre-82) models have a lot more carachter/style than the newer models. I'm sure the newer models are a lot less friendly to the home mechanic.
I've never owned an Alfa, but I will always regret selling that 528i.

Aloha. I see by your signiture that you bought the Alfa. Congratulations! You made th right choice. I have an '86 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce as a daily driver, you won't be dissapointed. A great refrence: http://www.alfabb.com Unfortunatly "Rusty" passed away so I'm looking for another FIAT Spider.
Have fun!!
