Hi Guys,
Well, I've taken the plunge and said yes to a deal on an '81 124 in south FL, all with the great help from Europa! Thanks again Europa and I hope we can meet up later this week when I come down to pick it up. Thanks for all the great advice from everyone on the forum. I'm going to use a Uhaul trailer to bring it back the 400 miles so hopefully the "adventure" won't start until after I get it home! Can anybody recommend a good all around manual/work book for this car? Something like a Haynes book?
John

Re: New owner from GA
Congratulations! I hope your new car brings you as much joy as ours do us. And that's not only the car, but the community of owners that you joined when you got it.
There are plenty of manuals available, and it's a good idea to get more than one. They all have their strong and weak points so with at least a couple you'll have a better chance to find the best procedure for what you're working on at the moment. I got mine (Brooklands and Clymer) from Ebay. Also, being FI, you should download a couple of diagnostic manuals available on the forum.

and: http://www.wcmotors.com/personal/Fiat%2 ... agnostics/
And of course, Brad Artigue's essential Fiat maintenance manual, which contains very good FI info:

On Brad's page you'll also find excellent wiring diagrams for our cars, you should definitely download them too.
Good luck!
Ron

Good luck bringing your new baby home and welcome to the forum. We'll be expecting pics soon! You may still be able to buy a manual from one of our vendors. I recall seeing them in the International Auto Parts catalog.

Thanks everybody! We had a good trip home pulling the Uhaul, but lots of rain. We are off on vacation for a week or so, so I'll post pictures when I get back. Europa is the MAN!

Craig, John bought the metallic brown 1981 Spider from Davie, FL.
I met John and his brother right after the 400+ mile trip from GA to S. Florida. I showed them my '83 (which is not in that great a shape). John mentioned that he, his brother and his wife are very happy with their new purchase.
Glad I could help and I wish John many years of wonderful top down driving fun!
