High from 8000 ft...again
High from 8000 ft...again
Quite a welcome, thank you. Yes, the car runs, pretty well actually and just over 58000 miles. Just spent 2 days cleaning it, the seat slide rails were frozen, took 4 hours to get them out and working. Did find things of interest under the seats…$1.54 in change and some old registration papers…seems it’s only been driven 2000 miles since 1997. Also discovered a new radiator, new disks, new distributor, new battery, rebuilt master cylinder and very little rust. The oil pan, however, appears to have had more than it’s share of encounters with curbs and rocks. Temperature remained normal on the 4000-foot climb to 8000 ft and its new home in Brighton, Utah. Didn’t really notice a performance decline from the altitude, but that might just be the low oxygen level in MY brain. Will make a few short test trips before the 150 mile run to Speed Week on the Bonneville Salt Flats in August.

lots of progress reported there! congratulations. that pocket change just might buy a cheap quart of oil.
the very little rust comment is something to smile about.
those seat slides give us all fits from time to time. glad you figured them out on your own.
