New Guy

Post by DougC »

Hi,

I just bought a '77 Spider and am really excited to get into Fiat ownership! It has 72K miles on it, and I paid $2,200 which seems like a good deal to me. It's not perfect, but the little things it needs will be keeping me occupied for a while.

Glad to be here!

Doug,

Welcome. I'm pretty new here myself. I picked up a '77 Spider last week (pictures are on the post Ready to buy, below). I'm having a great time with it and am also just sorting things out. The folks on this board are terrific, friendly and really helpful. Good luck with it.

Welcome to the forum Doug. $2200 sounds like a great deal, especially if it's fairly rust free. Any 30+ year old car will have some little issues, so that's to be expected. Even if it were perfect, most of us would find something we'd want to do to it.
Congratulations, and have fun!

Thanks guys. Yes, it's nearly rust free, so it should be a good gradual restoration project. I am from Ravensdale, WA which is a little unincorporated area SE of Seattle.

As soon as I figure out how to post pics I'll put some up.

Thanks!

Ravensdale! I'm in Federal Way. Welcome to the group. Yes, the people here have been very helpful through my project to replace my head gasket. Look forward to meeting up someday.

Put a roll bar in it and it would look like the younger brother of SoCal Mark's car!
I'd say you saved at least $1000 on the buy.
Pretty car, thanks for the pics.

Doug,

Very nice. Looks to be all stock. Looks well cared for, still has the original hub caps and hood. Great buy.
