Working on next year...

Post by mdrburchette »

I was out and about in the X19 today and decided to swing by the local Chrysler dealership to see what was going on. I went into the showroom and asked for the general manager. A man named Tony (hmmm...) was pointed out to me and I walked up to him and told him I wanted to discuss a proposal with him. I said, "As you know, Fiat will soon be coming back to America and I thought of a way to benefit both of us. This past weekend, I had about 20 Fiats here for an event. What would you think about hosting a cookout lunch for Fiat owners and the local community next year? We could use your parking lot to park the cars and the community could come and check out the vintage Fiats, as well as be introduced to the Fiat name and possibly the new 500?" Tony thought it was a great idea, so after talking a bit more, I got into my car and before I could leave, a man came out and exclaimed "Wow, an X19! My family had two of these! They're great cars!" This man was introduced to me as the owner of the dealership, Jeff, and was told about my idea to which he thought a great idea. He was enthused about Fiat coming back and excited to be part of it. Now I'm all excited about making my plans for my next Dixie Fiatfest!

Denise - great work. I think I'll do the same thing in Houston, and talk to Jerry about doing it in the DFW area.

You got something there, Mark, but I was actually surprised that there were several people in the showroom talking to F&I and test driving new cars. Far more than I would have thought!
