New to the Neighborhood

Post by PinkRebellion »

Hey, I'm a completely new driver from new york, but for as long as i can remember, my dad has promised me the green '79 spider convertable in the garage, (i've got pictures of me sitting in it as a kid).

so now i'm 17, it took me a year and drivers ed, but I've got my full liscense, and am working towards getting that car on the road for the next school year (i'm hoping to turn everyone as green as my car with envy)

So i've joined the forum for random help I'm sure I'll need along the way in trying to fix it up (it's been sitting in my grandma's garage for about 10 years) My current problem is that my dad doesn't know where the title to this vehicle is, and since it's a model before 1981, I can't seem to get a history report on it from the VIN nubmer online anywhere. If anyone could help me find a place where I could find out a history on it that would be WONDERFUL!

Assuming your dad or grandmother is the original owner, they should be able to request a replacement title to the one lost with the local department of licensing.

Enjoy the car!

I got my spider when I turned 15 (that was about 4 years ago now). It is a sexy car to drive around, especially to school. 8)

Even about 30 years ago (good grief, am I that old???) my first Fiat was the envy of the school.

You're right Mike. I could hardly touch the pedals back then either! Call me when you come up this way.
