Hi group. Glad to see such an active community. I just purchased a 1978 Fiat Sport Spider - 1800.
I know this group is gonna be mega-useful. Project is just starting. Just bought a new battery yesterday. Car cranking but not starting .... gonna browse to see if I can find some help. Thanks to all for this forum.

Noel - Welcome to the site and the group. And congratulations on your purchase - the '78 is my favourite too Check the point gap and look for spark in all the right places - do you smell fuel after cranking?

Hi Noel. Welcome to the forum. Let us know what you've diagnosed so far and I'm sure someone here will be able to take you from there to getting it started. Probably be Mike Bouse, the way he's been going lately.
Definitely post some pics of your new car for us to admire.

Thanks for all the welcomes guys.
I did get it started. Turned out to be a intermittently working fuel pump.
I replaced it with a universal electric fuel pump. It starts now, but its tough to get going.
Must crank alot and pump gas off and on.
Any ideas on how to begin troubleshooting this?

I know she don't look like much yet, but I am working on that!

Hey, it looks solid, and that's a big plus! Have fun driving her while she gets her cosmetic surgery.
